The Torrent blends surly guitar, haunting vocals and retro-future synths, all propelled by driving electronic beats. Transcending genre with dark, melodic, dancy synth pop, The Torrent wants you to get down.

Last year The Torrent released two new singles for Blocks Recording Club, Life Boat and Leopold Bloom. The songs are on the Building Blocks Volume 1 vinyl compilation LP, which came out in March 2010.

The Torrent’s first LP, Leonora Moreno, came out in 2009. In the Toronto Star, Ben Rayner said it was "a sexy/nasty slab of droning electro-pop sleaze, and my new favourite thing."

The Torrent is not named after a download protocol.
